EBC Brakes est une société anglaise qui a vu ses débuts en Europe puis aux USA dans les années 80, en développant la première gamme de pièces de rechange au monde. Spécialisée dans les pièces de freinage pour l’automobile, l’entreprise a rencontré un succès qui fait d’elle aujourd’hui un leader mondial des plaquettes et disques de freins de sport, haute performance et de course avec une vaste gamme de produits.

A savoir, la gamme de plaquettes de la marque est aujourd’hui la plus large au monde, avec plus de 5000 références pour différents types de véhicules. Les plaquettes de frein EBC sont exclusivement produites au sein de ses propres usines au Royaume-Uni et aux États-Unis. En ce qui concerne les disques de frein pour motos, la production est 100% réalisée aux Royaume-Uni. Il y en a pour tous les goûts et toutes les spécialités chez EBC, que ce soit pour une utilisation Route, Piste, Enduro, Off-road !

Pourquoi un « / » dans la référence ?

Avant la présentation des différentes gammes, il est utile de vous préciser la signification du « / » qu’il peut y avoir dans la référence EBC . A savoir, si la référence de la plaquette se termine par un /2 cela signifie qu’elle sera légèrement moins épaisse que s’il n’y a pas le / dans la référence. Cela peut être utile dans le cas où vous utilisez un disque adaptable plus épais que celui d’origine. A l’inverse, si la référence contient /3, cela signifie que la plaquette sera plus épaisse que sans le /, peu courante chez EBC, mais idéal par exemple si votre disque est déjà usé. Dans le cas d’un /4, cela signifie uniquement qu’il s’agit d’un lot de 4 plaquettes !

Gamme « SFA »

C’est l’équivalent de la gamme « FA » pour les motos, mais cette fois ci pour les scooters, avec un cahier de charges qui correspond à cette gamme de véhicules. Son matériau, c’est le best-seller de la marque, son fer de lance. Des plaquettes organiques contenant la célèbre fibre Dupont Kevlar® combinées à d’autres fibres de haute-technologie. Un matériau organique qui a été évalué par le magazine allemand Motorrad comme un composé qui surpasse toutes les plaquettes organiques comparées en termes de niveau de friction testé. Les plaquettes de la gamme «SFA » sont entièrement testées TÜV et certifiées KBA, offrant un excellent consommable de remplacement pour une utilisation route.

Gamme « SFAC»

Les scooters ont évolué au cours des dernières années avec des modèles jusqu'à 800CC capables d'atteindre des vitesses élevées, ce qui a exigé une révision des systèmes de freinages habituellement utilisés pour les scooters. Pour faire face à cette évolution des scooters, EBC Brakes a développé sa gamme de plaquettes de frein en Carbone, avec série « SFAC », offrant justement une performance et une durée de vie supérieure pour la gamme de scooters de moyenne et grosse cylindrée.

Gamme « SFA…HH » (ROUTE INTENSIF)

Fabriquées dans leur usine aux États-Unis, les plaquettes frittées EBC "Double-H" sont devenues un standard de comparaison pour les autres marques de plaquettes sur le marché européen ayant été les premières plaquettes homologuées ECE RC 90 en Europe.
